About
Who are we?
Helina Bailey is a tri-cultural mother, author, screen writer, veteran, perpetual student, homesteader, crafter, and nature lover. She has a passion for the written word and using it to inspire hope, love, community, and courage. Born into an agricultural family, she grew up playing on her grandpa’s farm and selling his produce at farmer’s markets with her mother and aunties along the coast of California. Helina’s father passed unexpectedly when she was a child, leaving her mother to raise three children alone. Watching her mother struggle to support a family in such a physically demanding field left her vowing to never work in agriculture again. After flying the coop and traveling the world, she found herself wanting nothing more than to be back on her grandpa’s farm, sharing the experiences of her youth with her children. Once they settled in Tennessee, her two boys, Aedan and Ahbrian, helped her build Walnut Hill Homestead. The boys help take care of the animals and keep the homestead thriving. Together, they enjoy a simple life on their little slice of heaven, running wild and free the way Helina did as a child.
